Welcome to Skate Athletics & Co!

Hi everyone! My name is Adrian Powditch. I am 27 years old, and am working as a strength and conditioning (S&C) coach while making sure I get in as many kickflips as I can.

A little bit of background about me…

In 2015, I moved to San Francisco for my undergrad. And as an affordable transportation option I bought an 8.0 Enjoi team “tie-dye” deck, 144 independent trucks, 52mm spitfire Chris Cole pro wheels, reds, bearings, mob griptape, and Enjoi hardware … aka a skateboard.

One thing that I quickly realized about skating, is that it looks a lot easier than it is. Holy sheesh, I had no idea what I was doing.

Rewind!

Little Adrian grew up in Malibu/Westlake Village, CA near the old, Papa Jacks Skatepark [Yo, City of Malibu! Build a damn new one!]. My mom used to take me there all the time, but really all I remember was feeling scared. I much preferred hoopin’, oh yeah I was a straight baller.

I remember thinking how sick dudes like Stevie Williams and Kareem Campbell looked on their boards. I loved their style and how they always put on for the culture. Baggy pants, thick shoes, small boards … damn. But still I was a hooper at heart.

Okay, fast forward!

I am currently working on my Master’s in S&C and have been skating for about 5 years now. Straight up, skateboarding has consumed my life.

One thing I have noticed over the past couple years, is that there is a glaring gap in skateboard related sport-science. I have found a lot of publications about skateboarding’s culture but there is basically nothing about the sports-science side. In addition to the lack of research, there is an absence of S&C coaches in the field. So, this is where I come in :-).

The main goal of Skate Athletics & Co. is to bridge the gap between the skateboarding world and the S&C world. I will help you reach your full physical potential by coaching you into better all-around athlete.

Each Skate Athletics program will increase your strength, endurance, power, flexibility and mobility. In addition, these improved physical characteristics will help increase pop, power on the board, injury resistance, stamina, and much more. Imagine how high you will be able to kickflip when you increase your strength and power by 20% … you gonna be looking like Tiago!

Whether you are someone who hopes to make the Olympics one day or someone like me, who just skates for fun, Skate Athletics & Co. has a program for you.

I am here to offer:
